James Harrison qualified as a teacher in 1989 and since then has worked in a variety of schools in the UK and Hong Kong. Prior to taking up his current position in Nobel Algarve he was the Principal of a large International Primary school in Hong Kong. He joined Nobel Algarve Almancil in September 2023 as Head of Primary.
As part of the celebration of World Tree Day, this week our school welcomed Infralobo, whose aim was to raise students' awareness of the importance of environmental preservation and the maintenance of green spaces.
Michelle Graigner joined over 4 years ago now, and is the Deputy Head of Primary and Curriculum Lead at Nobel Algarve Almancil. Since leaving the UK in 2008, she has taught in Greece, Malaysia, and Qatar before joining Nobel Algarve. She and her husband are passionate amateur endurance athletes and board sports enthusiasts – sharing this enthusiasm with students, by establishing sports clubs at the schools they have worked at.
Six students from Years 7 and Year 8 participated in the FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) in Seville. The FLL is a prestigious international robotics competition for schools. This year's theme was "Submerged," where students explored the layers of the ocean.
The first half of Term 2 came to an end on Friday 28th February and we celebrated in style with our annual International Day. In Portugal, this holiday coincides with the Carnival celebrations to mark the end of the winter.
