Nobel Algarve Lagoa - School Community

We are proud of our welcome school community that comes together regularly to celebrate community, school spirit and sustainability. Our community projects, school spirit, and traditions all contribute to a dynamic environment where every student is encouraged to thrive, connect, and make a difference.

Sustainability education

As a proud Green Flag school since 2017, we are committed to sustainability and fostering environmental awareness across our school. This prestigious recognition reflects the dedication of both staff and students in promoting eco-friendly initiatives and taking real action to protect our planet.

Local and international events

Nobel’s annual calendar is filled with events that celebrate student creativity, intellect, and athleticism. The art competitions, Global Academic Olympics, and MEGAS track and field competition offer multiple opportunities for students to showcase their talents, challenge themselves, and build school spirit.

The festive season is a particularly special time at Nobel. In recent years, our upper primary and middle school students have had the unforgettable experience of performing in a carol service held in the beautiful Silves Cathedral – an event that captures the warmth and togetherness of our school community.

Our school spirit is further ignited through participation in a wide range of local and international events. Our head students proudly represent Nobel at the Globeducate Leadership Summit, where they engage with peers from other schools, share ideas, and develop as global citizens.

Equally enriching is our participation in OPOMUN (Oporto Model United Nations), where students confidently tackle pressing global issues—from climate change migration to digital inequality and the illicit trade of small arms. Through rigorous debate and negotiation, our delegates demonstrate not only their knowledge but also their courage, diplomacy, and critical
thinking skills.

Parents’ Committee

We have a pro-active parents’ committee. The Nobel Parents’ Committee (NPC) is the group through which the school and parents work together on important issues. There are eight parents in the group, elected through a public vote.

This dedicated group works throughout the year to bring families together and support school life through a variety of engaging events, including our much-loved Christmas Fair, which fills the school with festive cheer. Their involvement also includes regular meetings with the Head of School and organising the parent-led after school activities.

The NPC has a number of sub-committees, for which all parents are welcome to volunteer. Details of the sub-committees and how you can get involved will be provided in September. In addition to the NPC, each class has a Class Representative, a volunteer chosen in the first week of school. The Class Representative is the first contact for parents for any day-to-day questions and class-related items.

The NPC is always happy to help and advise new parents, especially those new to the area. They can be contacted via email at: npc.lagoa@nobelalgarve.com
