Primary School provides a warm, inspiring and supportive environment where children are encouraged to discover, explore and grow.

From the age of 5, we nurture each child’s curiosity, confidence and love of learning, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and independence they need to flourish.

Teaching & Learning

Primary curriculum

Our experienced teachers deliver the National Curriculum for England through an engaging, topic-based approach to learning. Each topic provides opportunities for children to explore ideas across different subjects, helping them make meaningful connections and understand how their learning relates to the world around them. Learning is primarily led by dedicated class teachers who know their students well and provide the individual encouragement and challenge they need to reach their full potential. Specialist teaching in subjects including Physical Education, Computing and Music further enriches the learning experience.

We believe that Primary education is about much more than academic achievement. Our holistic approach supports children’s personal, social and emotional development, while encouraging them to become confident, compassionate and open-minded members of our international community. Through practical activities, creative experiences and engaging topics, children are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, solve problems and develop a genuine enthusiasm for learning.

As part of our international school community in Portugal, students benefit from a multicultural learning environment. Alongside learning in English, children develop their Portuguese language skills and gain an appreciation of the culture and community around them. This combination of British academic values, topic-based learning and an international outlook helps prepare our students to thrive in an increasingly connected world.

Primary School is divided into 2 stages:

Inclusive Education

As an inclusive school, we want to encourage and inspire a love of learning in every child. For those students who need additional support, we have a team of specialist teachers and teaching assistants who support children both inside and outside of the classroom. We work in partnership with families and external agencies (where required) to ensure the best outcomes for all our students.
