Celebration of Art and Imagination

Concert and Theatre Performance Inspired by the Work of Josefina Graça

On 17^th June 2025, the Municipal Auditorium of Lagoa was the stage for a moving and unforgettable celebration of creativity, literature, and the artistic expression of our primary school pupils.

The performance was inspired by the children's stories written by author Josefina Graça, namely “A Aranha Teté” and “Zé Sardinha e o Jogo de Futebol”. The author herself was present at the event and was warmly honoured by pupils, teachers, school staff, and parents, in a heartfelt gesture of recognition for the impact her stories have had on the lives and imaginations of children.

The 1ºano and 2ºano pupils delivered an engaging show of theatre, music, and dance, bringing the characters and messages of the books to life. Their dedication, creativity, and joy on stage deeply moved everyone present, in a performance that combined dramatic expression, musical coordination, and a strong sense of teamwork.

Following this, the 3ºano and 4ºano pupils delighted the audience with a musical concert filled with timeless pieces from both Portuguese and international music. Through powerful and emotional performances, they evoked shared memories among the audience, showcasing their musical development and artistic sensitivity.

This event was the result of close collaboration between the class teachers of the Primary school and the music teachers Bruno Rodrigues, João Feliz, and Ana Pedro – a true example of interdisciplinary teamwork, where artistic expression was embraced as a tool for learning and holistic development.

It was a special day, filled with talent, emotion, and shared experience. A true tribute to childhood, literature, and the art of teaching and learning with feeling.
