Nobel Algarve Lagoa Celebrates Another Year of Outstanding IGCSE Achievement

Students at Nobel Algarve British International School Lagoa are celebrating a strong set of IGCSE results, following last year's fantastic performance, when the school was proud to receive two Pearson Outstanding Learner Awards. This year's results provide another strong reflection of the progress and commitment of our students and school community.

Across all IGCSE subjects, a fantastic 32% were grades 7-9, much higher than the UK average.

Core subjects produced particularly strong results. 90% of students achieved grade 4 or above in iGCSE Mathematics, around 30 percentage points above the England national average, while 83% achieved grade 4 or above in iGCSE English Language, around 23 percentage points above the average.

Students also performed strongly across the wider curriculum, with exceptional results in the Sciences, History and Geography. 

The school are also thrilled to shine a spotlight on some exceptional performances and particularly high achievers, who have shown dedication, resilience and a desire to improve throughout their schooling journeys at Nobel Algarve Lagoa. Marcus achieved an incredible eight A*s and 1 A, while Miebi achieved six A*, two As and one B.

However, alongside these exceptional results, the school is particularly proud of the progress and improvement shown by so many students. Their resilience, consistency and pure dedication throughout their IGCSE journey have been a real source of inspiration.

The results are a reflection not only of academic achievement, but of the commitment of students who have continued to work, develop and overcome challenges throughout their secondary education, supported by their teachers and families.

We now look forward to welcoming many of our Year 11 students into Sixth Form, where we will have our largest cohort ever. We are excited to see them continue their journey at Nobel Algarve Lagoa, build on these achievements and continue to thrive, grow and reach their full potential.
