Nobel Algarve Lagoa Students Represent School at Globeducate Global Olympics 2026

Sam Brown, Ava Patel, Enrique Moura, Vasco Cid and Lucio Faria, accompanied by Ms. Cann, have returned from the Globeducate Global Olympics 2026 after joining young athletes from international schools across Europe for a celebration of sport, teamwork and global friendship.

All were selected to represent the school at the event, which brought together 180 students from 24 Globeducate schools in several countries. The students competed in a range of sporting activities – some familiar such as football and table-tennis, and some new such as archery and pickleball – while also forming new friendships, developing team player and leadership skills, and gaining a deeper cultural understanding.

The Global Olympics is one of Globeducate’s international experiences, designed to encourage collaboration, wellbeing and international-mindedness among students from diverse backgrounds.

During the Globeducate Global Olympics, students took part in competitions including high jump, vortex throw, lacrosse, hockey and football, working in mixed teams alongside peers from different schools and nationalities. A highlight of the event was the outdoor learning experience, learning how to build shelters, make fires safely, and to learn some key outdoor education skills.

Sam Brown said: “Sharing spaces with students from other schools, including Valencia, was good fun, and we’ve all made friends. The sports were great.”

Mr. Ian Walker, Head of School, said:

“The Globeducate Global Olympics provides a unique opportunity for students to develop confidence, resilience and international perspectives. Sport is uniquely placed to support the development of these skills.”

The experience provided students with an opportunity to develop confidence, resilience and communication skills while representing their school on an international stage.
